A Global Education Through The World's Best Collaboration

The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) prides itself on offering a unique global education where academics, social and personal growth form the core of the learning process.

The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) is a top international school in Malaysia following the English National Curriculum, comprising Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form with a local and international student body of over 1,200 students. The school is part of the world’s leading international and private schools organisation, the Nord Anglia Education group, which has 61 institutions across 28 countries.

BSKL is located within the township of Bandar Utama and has been purpose built to accommodate contemporary classrooms and learning areas designed to enhance knowledge gained from exemplary teachers as well as great sporting facilities. International schools all have very precise goals and parents have an incredible choice of institutions to choose from, which can be difficult. This is where BSKL comes into its own with exceptional collaborations with world-leading institutions and educators.

Beyond traditional education
Today’s students aim higher and schools must address the ever-changing educational landscape. Exam results and a good teaching environment are the norm now, and for children to fulfil their full intellectual, social and emotional potential, schools must provide more. BSKL addresses this with their enhanced performing arts and STEAM programmes, partnership with UNICEF and being part of the prestigious Global School platform under the Nord Anglia Education group.

Performing Arts with The Juilliard School: Music, dance and drama are an integral part of a child’s education and it has been proven that the performing arts greatly improves academic success and social development. Through the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts programme, students have access to a world-renowned curriculum and a chance to participate in exciting activities and summer courses.

STEAM Collaboration with MIT: In association with the highly respected Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) subjects are taught using an innovative approach. These subjects provide the skills needed for students in almost every field of study from medicine and IT to engineering and design. At BSKL, students will take part in challenges, activities and workshops devised by MIT experts, and will even have the chance to visit the university for an inspirational first-hand experience.

Sustainable Development with UNICEF: The world’s leading advocate for children, UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) is committed to protecting the rights of every child, saving lives and ensuring that they fulfil their full potential. BSKL students have the unique opportunity to get involved through special events and activities, and to participate in an annual sustainable development global challenge. This year will see two BSKL students heading to New York for the annual NAE UNICEF Student Summit, where student ambassadors highlight the work their schools are doing for sustainable development. This is an incredible opportunity for student activism and for the school to showcase its good works.

Global Campus: Today’s student is tomorrow’s entrepreneur, researcher and creative thinker. By being part of Nord Anglia’s extensive school network, BSKL is able to offer students outstanding opportunities to learn different languages, embrace diverse cultures and experience the curriculum with a truly global perspective through challenges, competitions and extended learning. What the future needs are well-rounded students who are not only academically inclined, but who want to make positive change. Schools are responsible for this and BSKL is on the right path with its valuable collaborations.
