The Early Years – covering Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception – is open to children from the age of two, and focuses on helping young students develop a positive attitude towards learning. By creating a safe and stimulating environment, younger children are more willing and look forward to exploring new concepts and ideas. To prepare them for Primary School, students will be taught and guided through seven areas of learning – Communication and Language; Physical Development; Personal, Social and Emotional Development; Literacy; Mathematics; Understanding the World; and Expressive Arts and Design. There are also specialist modern foreign language lessons (Mandarin or Spanish) for students from the age of 2 years old. Furthermore, students are taught concepts such as self-discipline, a sense of responsibility and respect for others through our positive education curriculum.
The British International School of Kuala Lumpur (BSKL) opened in 2009 and is part of the Nord Anglia Education (NAE) – the world’s leading premium education group with 68 schools in 29 countries. As part of this network, BSKL has strengthened its academic credentials and enhanced learning through several key initiatives. These include collaborations with some of the world’s most prestigious educational institutions including MIT, Juilliard and UNICEF, as well as access to the Global Campus, which allows students to learn new skills and develop a truly international perspective through online, in-school and worldwide experiences. BSKL is the first school in Asia to be awarded the COBIS (Council of British International Schools) Patron’s Accreditation.
