Learn French at the AFKL

French is spoken by 270 million people worldwide across five continents, and the second most learnt language in the world. As a result of population growth, the number of French speakers will rise to over 700 million by 2050.

The Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur (AFKL) is the only official centre for learning French in Malaysia that is recognised by the French Ministry of Education as well as French universities. The school holds examinations and tests such as the DELF/ DALF certification, which is awarded for language proficiency, and is supported by the French Embassy in Malaysia. All classes are taught by French native speakers and start at RM16/ hour depending on the course taken.

The AFKL welcomes students of any age and has an excellent range of classes for children, teenagers and adults covering various levels of competency. Class sizes are small to ensure effective learning and personalised attention. If more flexibility is needed, there is the option of private tuition for both children and adults, which are ideal for those taking exams and who need to improve conversation skills.

For children aged three to nine classes include fun games, arts and craft, singing and many other engaging activities. The older children follow a structured programme taught by specialised teachers, while courses for teenagers (10-14) help improve exam results for those taking it as a second language at school or intending to study in France where university fees are a fraction of the cost of many other countries. There are also holiday programmes for children aged six to upper secondary school.

Adult courses are also available for various levels of proficiency, as well as workshops based on different themes to help students improve their spoken and comprehension skills. Learning about French music, cooking, reading, movies and exploring French culture are fun ways to understand the language. There is also a casual monthly French Meet Up, providing a good opportunity to meet new people and practise speaking.

Sign up for a free trial class and discover a fun, easy way to learn a new language.
