Camp5
Camp5 centres are fully air conditioned with routes of varying difficulty levels. There are child-friendly walls with brightly coloured holds, and all Camp5 instructors are trained and certified by the American Mountain Guides Association. Make it a family activity and check out the family membership plans, or get the kids into the Cicak Club which offers coached climbing sessions. The Utropolis Marketplace branch also offers bouldering – climbing without harnesses or ropes on ‘boulders’ that are less than 5m high with a mattress to cushion landings.

Madmonkeyz 
Madmonkeyz is all about making climbing fun. It’s an indoor bouldering gym with various courses and pre-set routes for beginners. Kids from 5 years old can enrol in the MonKidz Climbing School where they learn how to adapt to different climbing environments through fun games and activities. MadMonkeyz also organises outdoor climbing packages where climbers (kids from age 5 years included) are taken to various climbing sites around Malaysia like Batu Caves, Gua Musang, Bau and more.

Putrajaya Challenge Park
Head over to the Putrajaya Challenge Park for a climbing session in the largest indoor climbing gym in Southeast Asia. There’s a Kids Climbing Room with padded floors for the younger ones and brightly coloured walls with easier routes, while older kids who are more experienced climbers can have a try on the adult walls with their parents. Classes available in four- or eight-class packages are taught by climbing specialists Crossmove Adventure. with proshop available to buy your own equipment instead of renting.

Bolder Ventures
Bolder Ventures offers everything from top-rope climbing to bouldering for both experienced and novice climbers. Additional courses teaching belaying techniques as well as skills like knot-tying and harnessing are also offered, and there are one-to-one coaching sessions available as well. The walls are inspired by manager and coach Safwan who has spent time rock climbing around the world, and are colour coordinated according to levels of difficulty.

BUMP Bouldering
BUMP Bouldering is a new climbing gym located in Jaya One, and has plenty of bouldering walls to explore, made with materials like holds and panels which are sourced from all over the world. There’s also an Introduction to Bouldering session that teaches students bouldering safety, the proper climbing footwork, body positioning and more.

Oxbold Extreme Sports
Instead of climbing artificial walls, try the outdoor climbing with Oxbold Extreme Sports. There are fun courses that are suitable for both the novice and the experienced climber, which are organised at locations like the limestone rock face located at Batu Caves. Experienced instructors will guide you through everything you need to know about rock climbing techniques, usages of ropes and equipment as well as climbing commands and how to communicate for a fun and safe climb.
